just got my copy of studio 8—one of the perks from my internship (as if i have a G to spend on software). i think im pretty happy with it overall. this summer i used dw 8 pretty much all the time, and since then, going back to mx has made me want to drive my head through a wall many-a-times. its the little things really, like easy code-commenting, background file transfers, proper css support (well, thats not so little). also, the visual rendering in dw has really improved. i use a lot of iframes on sites i make and mx just couldnt handle them, i would end up with a garbled mess. the truth is i prefer testing in a browser anyway, but its nice to know i can use dw if i have to.

flash also got a big update, but i havent had much time to expirement with it yet. flash video is pretty badass though. the quality is pretty good. its still not as good as qt, but considering how much smaller it is in file size. i tried to encode an old clip of mine and found out one thing that is a real bummer though, that flash cant encode audio from qt mpegs. yeah, i have no idea why either.
